ALL SOILS
Mulch can be applied at any time of the year. It helps to Save WATER by reducing evaporation and also aids in suppressing weeds. You should aim to spread your mulch 75mm - 100mm thick for best results (50mm Minimum) & top up every 6 - 12 months. Pro Tip - Get yourself a pitchfork for moving it around, its much easier to pick up!
Soil mixes are available for top dressing & laying new Lawns, establishing Garden Beds and raising Vegetable Patches. Conditioners & Composts help to improve and revive poor quality sandy soils, while also helping to retain water and hold structure. They can be dug into your garden prior to mulching, but also mixed with your Mulch to help feed your plants. For best results they should be applied at least 50mm & dug in well to avoid water logging.
Measure the area you need to cover using big steps...
Example 8 x 5 ~ 40 square metres(m2) in total.
To cover 40 square metres at 50mm (2 inches) thick, you require 2 cubic metres(m3). If you have twice that area then you require 4 cubic metres(m3), If you have half that area then you require 1 cubic metre(m3). Good Luck! For our customers who prefer to guess what they require visually, we have another solution for you below :
(m3) 1 cubic metre ~ approx 1.5 Trailer Loads.
